Cyrus Khela, Principal Dentist

GDC No. 154003 - BDS Sheffield 2008

Cyrus graduated from Sheffield University in 2008 and from the very beginning of his career had a strong ambition to own his own dental practice. At just 26 years old, Cyrus became Principal Dentist of High Locks Dental Practice in 2011. Since then, he has led the complete transformation of the practice, renovating and expanding it from a small three-surgery practice into a modern seven-surgery clinic.

Cyrus has continued to grow his dental portfolio, acquiring Northborough Dental in 2023 and Bridge Dental in 2025. Today, he leads a well-established team of 35 staff members. Despite his significant business responsibilities, Cyrus remains clinically active and continues to care for a loyal patient base that he has built over many years.

He has a strong passion for continuous growth, innovation, and exploring the full scope of dental treatments to ensure the highest standard of care for his patients.

Outside of dentistry, Cyrus enjoys a busy family life with his wife, three children, and their dog - Rolo. In his spare time, he stays active at the gym, enjoys travelling abroad whenever possible, and is a devoted supporter of Manchester United.

Simon Manian

Simon Manian, Special Interest in Endodontics

GDC 179076 – BDS Sheffield 2009, MSC in Endodontics Central Lancashire 2018

Simon graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2009, he built a keen interest in endodontics, so he went on to complete a master’s degree in Endodontics in 2018 which he received a distinction from the University of Central Lancashire.

Simon enjoys being able to provide high quality dental treatment for his patients and accepts referrals for endodontic root canal treatments. Simon has a PGCert in healthcare education and works part-time as a specialty dentist at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital in the department of Endodontics.

Simon enjoys teaching and lecturing in endodontics to dentists across the UK as a member of the British Endodontic Society. Outside of work, he spends time with his family and two children, enjoys travelling, and pursues his passion for photography.

Andrew (Drew) Francis

Andrew (Drew) Francis, General Dentist & Cosmetic Dentistry

GDC 258883 – BDS Sheffield 2015

Drew graduated from Sheffield University in 2015 and has since developed a strong passion for cosmetic dentistry. He focuses on minimally invasive treatments, using Invisalign and composite bonding to enhance smiles while preserving natural teeth.

Outside of work, Drew enjoys spending time with his family and two young children, travelling, and staying active in the gym when he can.

Farah Jamal

Farah Jamal, General Dentist

GDC 63765 - BDS Bristol 1988

Farah graduated from Bristol University in 1988 and brings over 35 years of experience in general dentistry. She has a strong passion for dentistry in children, with a particular focus on prevention and educating patients about oral health. Farah takes great pride in spending quality time with her patients and has built a large, loyal patient base over the years.

Outside of work, Farah enjoys volunteering within her local community. Her hobbies include Zumba, cooking, baking, and travelling to destinations around the world.

Chris Hibbins

Chris Hibbins, General Dentist

GDC 68031 – BDS Newcastle 1992

Chris graduated from Newcastle University in 1992, where he was awarded the Lipman Prize for Periodontology. With over 33 years of experience in general dentistry, he previously owned Northborough Dental, which was acquired by High Locks in 2023. Chris has built a loyal and longstanding patient base, many of whom continue to see him today.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, wine tasting, classic cars, watch collecting, extreme gardening, and is involved in his local community and the church in Northborough.

Rupee Hayes

Rupee Hayes, General Dentist & Facial Aesthetics

GDC 73356 - BDS Dundee 1997

Rupee graduated from the University of Dundee in 1997 and has developed a strong passion for facial aesthetics throughout her career. With over 20 years of experience in both general dentistry and facial aesthetics, she is highly regarded for delivering high-quality, advanced treatments to her patients. Rupee has also opened her own aesthetics clinic, where she continues to provide facial aesthetic treatments. Rupee has also completed a PC certification in Law and Ethics with Ian

Out of clinical practice, Rupee enjoys spending time outdoors with her four dogs. She has a strong interest in rugby union and fine wine and has participated in charitable initiatives, including a wing walk in aid of the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Jonathan Cliffe

Jonathon Cliffe, General Dentist

GDC 62607 - BDS Bristol 1987, MMedSci DentImp Sheffield 2005, MGDS, DPCO, DPDS Bristol 2006

Jonathon graduated from the University of Bristol in 1987. Following graduation, he developed a strong interest in dental implants and went on to complete a Master of Medical Science (MMedSci) in Dental Implantology. He later discovered a further passion for orthodontics (teeth straightening) and returned to the University of Bristol to complete a postgraduate diploma (DPCO) in Special interest in Orthodontics.

With over 35 years of experience in dentistry, Jonathon brings extensive knowledge and expertise to his work. He previously owned Bridge Dental, which has since been acquired by High Locks, where he built an excellent reputation. Jonathon has a large and loyal patient base, many of whom continue to see him years later.

Jonathon focuses on general dentistry. He has a particular interest in orthodontics and Invisalign treatments. Outside of dentistry, Jonathon enjoys spending time with his family and cycling along with playing with his friendly parson terrier dog.

Paul Samusz

Paul (Pawel) Samusz, General Dentist & Implantology

GDC 85275 - Lek Stom Szczecin (Poland) 2000, MSc Implant Dentistry (Warwick)

Paul graduated in Poland in 2000 and spent five years working there before moving to the UK in 2005, where he began his career as a general dental practitioner. He is deeply passionate about dentistry and, through hard work and dedication, has built an excellent professional reputation.

Providing the highest standard of dental care has always been paramount to Paul. He places strong emphasis on personal care and strives to make every patient’s visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible. His postgraduate training has focused heavily on dental implants, and in 2018 he achieved an MSc in Implant Dentistry from the University of Warwick.

Paul particularly enjoys carrying out complex implant cases, including full-arch treatments such as All-on-4 and All-on-6.

Outside of dentistry, Paul values family time and enjoys a wide range of outdoor activities, including scuba diving, skiing, hiking, kayaking, clay pigeon shooting, DIY projects, and mountain biking.

Avani Patel

Avani Patel, General Dentist & Special Interest in Endodontics

Avani graduated from University of Birmingham in 2008. Since qualifying, she has developed a strong interest in endodontics and has completed a postgraduate qualification in Special Interest in Endodontics.

Avani enjoys all aspects of general dentistry alongside her special interest in endodontics, and is committed to providing high-quality, patient-focused care in every area of her practice.

Outside of dentistry, Avani enjoys expressing her creativity through sewing, making everything from cushion covers to dresses. She also values spending quality time with her husband and young daughter.

Priya Lad

Priya Lad – General Dentist

GDC 194456 – BDS Cardiff 2010

Priya graduated from Cardiff University in 2010 and was originally part of the Bridge Dental team before joining High Locks when the practice was acquired.

She completed a clear aligner course in 2023 and has a special interest in orthodontics, alongside providing general dentistry, including periodontal care and cosmetic treatments. Priya loves helping patients feel confident with their smiles.

Outside of work, Priya enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She likes keeping active, going to the gym, and making the most of her family time.

Chris Smith

Chris Smith, Implantologist

GDC 104104 - BDS Leeds 2006, BSc (Hons), BChD (Leeds 2006), MJDF RSC (Eng), DipImpDent RCS (Eng), PG DipSed.

Chris graduated from the Leeds Dental School in 2006. Chris has built a reputation for excellence in private general dentistry. He is highly qualified in his field, holding a Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons and a Postgraduate Diploma in Conscious Sedation from Newcastle University.

Chris has a keen interest in mainly Implants, Sedation, and complex extractions. He operates a successful peripatetic implant service, supporting dental practices and patients across Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, and Rutland.

Outside of the clinic, Chris enjoys a busy life with his wife and two children. To stay active, he is a regular at the gym and a keen skier.
